Census at the Hoosier Outdoor Experience
The 2010 Census was a sponsor to the first annual Hoosier Outdoor Experience this year at Fort Harrison Park on September 26-27. They purchased t-shirts for our volunteers to wear. This event brought in approximately 13,000 people from all over the state over the weekend.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is taking a greater role in promoting the 2010 Census and we encourage our various constituent groups to fully participate.
What’s in it for us?
State Wildlife grants are issued based on the ratio of the population of the state relative to the population of the total U.S. These grants are used for surveying and monitoring activities for a wide variety of nongame wildlife and critical habitats, university research projects designed to allow DNR to obtain critical survey, monitoring and selected species research information by leveraging university expertise and technical assistance with wildlife diversity of concern to Indiana residents.
